1. Clamp the workpiece securely so that the workpiece will not move during
the cut.
2. Disconnect the circular saw from the power source.
3. Draw a cut line before beginning your cut.
4. Adjust the cutting angle and cutting depth as needed.
5. Plug the saw into a power source.
6. Always place the saw weight on the side of workpiece that is supported, not
on the side that will fall off when the cut is completed (Fig. 12).
7. Place the workpiece with the “good” side down.
NOTICE: The “good” side of the workpiece is the side where appearance
is important.
8. Hold the saw rmly with both hands. (Fig. 10)
9. Rest the front edge of the base on the workpiece, without the blade
touching the workpiece.
10. Depress the lock-off button and squeeze the trigger switch to start the saw.
11. Allow the blade to reach full speed, and then guide the saw into the workpiece.
ѥWARNING: If the blade comes in contact with the workpiece before it
reaches full speed, it could cause the saw to kickback towards you, possibly
resulting in serious injury.
12. Guide the saw through the workpiece, following the cut line.
13. After completing your cut, release the trigger switch and allow the blade
to come to a complete stop in the cut. Do not remove the saw from the
workpiece while the blade is moving. It will damage your cut and could
cause kickback.
14. Lift the saw from the workpiece.
INTEGRATED CROSSCUT RULER
Marked along the base across the front of the saw is a ruler for measuring
repetitive cuts. It is marked 1 1/2 in. to the right of the 0° and 4 3/16 in. to the left
of 0° in 1/16 in. increments.
